About

My name is Rajani and I am settled in Chennai, India for the past 11 years. I am from Trivandrum, Kerala.

I love food, trying out different recipes, taking pictures of food and writing simple things. So I decided to put it all together and start a food blog.

My husband Harish (aka Harry) is a willing guinea pig to all my cooking trials. My 4 1/2 year old son, Shreyas (aka Bebo), is a tougher nut to crack. He doesn’t warm up to experimental food very fast. So a small pot of plain rice and a cup of yogurt will always be there in the kitchen, as a back up.

We are vegetarians and the food here will be vegetarian too, mostly (but not just limited to) South Indian. I try my level best to cut short the tedious parts of cooking (well, I admit it – I AM lazy), so some of the recipes have an easier (mostly Microwave) version too.

Hope you will enjoy reading it!

dear rajani…it was great reading through your blog though i am not much of a cook – however it was interesting to see your image of a kitchen in DaksinaChitra and corresponding content – especially since i design the DakshinaChitra newsletter – i am hoping to feature your post. Do send me your email id or phone number to rhodalex@gmail.com. Would love to get in touch with you.
